To resolve this clients neck pain, I had her go into a side-lying position. I then used techniques from Structural Integration aka/ Rolfing, Neuro-Muscular therapy to strip out the neck muscles, not only alleviating pain but giving her back her range of motion. I was able to palpate the clients neck and feel where it was tight with my fingertips, then melt through the tightness with my thumbs.
For this clients upper back pain due to decades of computer use, I used deep tissue, orthopedic massage. In cases such as this, where there is heavy fascia build-up, I used small tip NMT bars to break through the intense tension and bring the client relief. I apply pressure with the bars in different spots, melting through the tightness.
